This
Africa wildlife, community building and personal awareness
Safari is a luxurious, once in a lifetime, small group Africa
travel experience.
We combine a multitude of wildlife
environments, the luxury and comfort of some of Africa's finest
lodges, a unique community interaction program, the splendor
of Victoria Falls, the charm of Cape Town in South Africa and
the mystique of Botswana's Okavango Delta to make this a truly
fulfilling experience.
"I
was truly blessed by the opportunity to travel with you to
such a special part of the world. Your abounding graciousness,
knowledge, warmth, caring, and sense of humor are phenomenal!
Thank you for opening the door to establishing new and genuinely
spiritual relationships."
"You made it so easy for
us to have an experience we'll never be the same for having
had. I for one am in
your debt: so much has and continues to change for me as a result
of our all being together. We really miss our fellow travelers."

During
our journey we will explore a multitude of African classics
in order that your time in Africa provides you with a fulfilling
and rich experience.
The Experience
It is
the tradition of Still Water Travel to turn ordinary travel
into an intimate journey of discovery.
Our
trip leaders are professionals in the skills of
guiding, facilitating group dynamics, and supporting personal
transformation.
All of our programs
incorporate processes of self discovery and awareness.
These are not typical tours or travel programs and we will
be inviting you to celebrate and discover with others during
our shared journey.
Above all we
respect your choice to participate at the level at which
you feel most comfortable.
We travel and explore together to celebrate life, expand
our horizons and ultimately to have fun!
This African Journey has
it all! We have paid attention to all the little details to
make this an experience packed
with premiere wildlife viewing opportunities, specially crafted
cultural exchanges, efficient travel between remarkable lodges
and the personal awareness program and group camaraderie that
are hallmarks of the Still Water Travel experience.
Some things to consider:
We use only open vehicles for game viewing which
allows greater opportunity for seeing and photographing game.
We do not spend time in the large commercial
game parks. We visit only private game preserves. This
allows us to stay out past sunset where-as in the big parks
you have to be out of the entrance gates by dark. This also
means that we will not be crowded by up to a dozen other game
vehicles from other lodges when we come across a sublime wildlife
encounter. This is our own private journey.
Our guides are highly professional in both anticipating
and taking care of your needs as well as facilitating a truly
life-changing experience.
Finally, we have developed a program of intimate
cultural exchanges in some local villages supported by Still
Water Travel. We visit schools and communities, and will be
spending an entire evening away from the lodge at an outdoor
community dinner where we will share stories, songs and cultural
histories.
This is more than just a safari. This
is a deep and meaningful experience designed to create
memories that will last a lifetime!
Victoria Falls - Without
doubt, Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular
natural wonders of the world. The mighty Zambezi flows, broad
and placid, to the brink of a basalt lip seventeen hundred
metres wide before taking a headlong plunge into the frothy
chasm of the gorge below. This is the world's largest sheet
of falling water.
Matetsi, Zimbabwe - Occupying
50 000 hectares adjacent to the mighty Zambezi River, Matetsi
represents a triumph for conservation, consolidating former
hunting concessions into one of Africa's most magnificent
game viewing sanctuaries where wildlife can thrive under
protection.
Here, just 40 kilometers west of Victoria Falls, 50,000
hectares of unspoiled paradise is home to vast herds of
buffalo, elephant and sable antelope which range freely
between Botswana and Zimbabwe throughout an unfenced area
of immense
size. With its fifteen kilometers of Zambezi River frontage,
Matetsi offers a river experience of both adventure and
great tranquility - and it is here, overlooking these mighty
river waters, that Matetsi Water Lodge is located.
The
Okavango Delta, Botswana -
The Okavango is one of the world's largest inland Deltas
and supports one of the richest collections of wildlife
on the planet. Spread throughout an area of some 16000
square kilometers, the Delta is an area of tranquil,
lily covered lagoons and narrow channels hemmed in by
papyrus
reeds, and teeming with animal and bird life. A trip
on a "Mokoro" is an unforgettable experience.
The blended beauty of the African plains with the life
giving
waters of the Okavango offers a sublime experience.

The journey
never ends!
"...I
heartily recommend for anyone to take another trip with
you, for the warmth and care that went into making this
trip special
really came through clearly at every step of the way."
The Okavango Landscape - Botswana
The Rangers are almost
telepathic in their ability to find game as they guide your four-wheel drive safari vehicle
to within close viewing range of impassively grazing herds
of impala, tsessebe, giraffe and zebra as well as within
close focus range of the powerful predators: lion, leopard
and cheetah. You are also likely to see plenty of wildebeest,
warthog, kudu, black-backed jackals, steenbok, bat-eared
foxes, vultures, hornbills and eagles.
Nxabega -
Nxabega camp is one of Botswana's top safari camps. Situated
under dense stands of African ebony and strangler fig trees
in an exclusive wildlife concession, Nxabega Okavango Safari
Camp is unique. It combines the Okavango Delta water wilderness
experience with the excitement of viewing big game.
This magnificent lodge in Botswana has been
beautifully hand crafted and was deliberately designed
to ensure that its open plan dining room, lounge, wildlife
reference library, and expansive sundecks all offer unobstructed
views over the endless floodplains of the delta. Other
facilities of the lodge include a raised game viewing platform,
plunge pool and sundeck.
Phinda,
South Africa - Phinda Private Game Reserve has
an international reputation for its sterling conservation
achievements. Phinda was pivotal to the creation of the
Greater St Lucia Wetland Park conservation area, and is
responsible for one of Africa's most ambitious wildlife
re-introduction programmers.
The wildlife at Phinda is sensational. The
plains of Phinda are the roaming grounds of buffalo, white
rhino, elephant, giraffe, impala, zebra and wildebeest.
The famous glass suites of the Forest Lodge are probably
the finest example of this organization's ability to successfully
integrate stark raving luxury into the natural environment.
Cape Town - Cape Town is
undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world
and we will take full advantage of all it has to offer.
From a visit to the top of Table Mountain, which dominates
the Cape Town skyline, to a full day exploring the famous
South African Wine Lands, and a full three nights at the
elegant Radisson Hotel, we will be pampered and thrilled
throughout our stay.
